What to ask about your attic insulation

Bring a useful set of questions to your next home inspection.

If some rooms feel different from the rest of the house, start by describing what you notice. An inspection can help turn those observations into questions about the attic and the rest of the home.

01Describe the rooms

Note which rooms feel uncomfortable, the time of day, and any changes you have noticed. Share those details with the person assessing the house.

02Ask what was inspected

Ask your specialist to explain the conditions they found, what they checked, and whether additional assessment is needed before recommending work.

03Understand the proposal

Request a written scope that identifies the proposed material, preparation, installation work and cleanup. Ask how the recommendation relates to the rest of your home.

Editorial draft for review. Final article, author and publication details to be confirmed.
